What is a Tonnage Survey?
- Necessary for UK and 6 Red Ensign registration.
- Tonnage of the vessel is measured and reported by an authorised 'measurer'.
- A Certifying Authority approves the Certificate of Tonnage.

How is it conducted?
- LLL (Load Line Length) of the boat should be below 24 metres.
- Measurements should be taken by an MCA approved measurer.
- Approved measurer visits the boat and measures specific areas, then calculated the tonnage and reports to the CA.
- Promulgation of the certificate takes a few working days.
